Mandala’s – Mindful Art with Colour using Pen & Watercolour Pencils The ancient practice of drawing mandalas spans thousands of years and touches many cultures from around the world. The Sanskrit word “mandala” generally translates into “circle” and is expressed in symbolic, diagrammatic patterns and drawings with a variety of meanings and interpretations. It can be a beautiful expression of mindfulness and art in our modern western world and is both simple in structure and complex in design. Join Judi and explore how this simple art practice can act as a conduit for quiet and calm and is easy for practically anyone – if you can draw a leaf or a flower petal, you can draw a mandala! It is also inexpensive to do and easy to take anywhere as you need very few supplies. In this workshop you will learn: How to create basic grids for making mandalas The supplies needed to do this on your own How to look for patterns and use them in your drawing Tips and tricks for troubleshooting Basic mindfulness and meditation practices The participant will leave with a completed mandala plus a possible partial second one (a work in progress) along with resource print material. They will have a basic understanding of some mindfulness practices including meditation. Course includes break for lunch
